What to expect with a Martin Coates Garden Studio
MCGS follow an industry standard approach to garden and landscape projects:
Stage One →Site visit & design concepts
MCGS will have a call with you via Zoom to understand the project in more detail, your hopes and ambition for the space. Your expectations around budget and timescales would be beneficial from the outset. The MCGS approach will be set out and any initial issues, questions and concerns can be openly addressed.First, a remote video call - MCGS will see you in your garden and take time to understand your needs and requirements. A basic site walk through will identify initial considerations and design opportunities.
Second, a site visit -If we agree to progress together, the wheels are now turning and a detailed site survey will be undertaken, along with working with you on the site concept and key requirements. These will be written and shared and form the basis of the garden that will subsequently be developed. Relevant products and services may include:
→ Site survey (or commissioning surveys for the largest residential gardens)
→ Bespoke garden design concept and mood boards
→ 2D high-res layouts comprising hardscape, planting, and other garden features along with recommended materials and preliminary construction outlines (where required)
→ 3D images and photorealistic presentations to support your decision making
→ Planting plans
→ Construction plans
Third, the site survey, agreeing the initial concepts and high level designs -Then finally, the detailed plans and construction drawings are ready for stage two…Stage Two →Dig, build and plant
Providing design advice remotely and on site (subject to distance) for the builders, craftspeople, landscapers and gardeners through the completion of the build and/or planting scheme
