We are for rock climbers, trail runners, mountain bikers, yoga practitioners, global travellers, outdoor cooks, wildlife watchers, weekend walkers, and clubbing grandparents, at MCGS we are here to redesign your outdoor life as a place of contemplation and wonder, for evenings by the firepit with beers and guitars, or simply sleeping in the orchard hammock to the steady hum of bees and swaying grasses.

About MCGS
Founded by lead designer and CEO Martin Coates, MCGS has its roots in Sheffield, the Peak District, North East and anywhere that people seek outdoor adventure and a sustainable future through their driveways, patios, backyards, and gardens.
Prior to a midlife career switch, re-training in garden design at the KLC School of Design, London, Martin started out with a distinguished career in public service, including the Department of Health, Cabinet Office, and NHS in both a senior managerial and a therapeutic capacity. Since then, MCGS has grown rapidly and delivered inspiring outdoor living and garden design projects for private residential and public spaces across the north of England.

MCGS is supported by a network of established and exceptional constructors, craftspeople, sculptors, artists, plant nurseries and suppliers to advise and deliver the highest quality in construction and planting, and the ability to bring together a local network of suppliers near to you to ensure that both a lessened supplier footprint, and local craft and cultural traditions are fully integrated as part of your design.
